If you enjoy vampire lore and video games, then you’re probably excited for Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines 2. It’s the sequel to the cult classic, now featuring Seattle as the main backdrop where dangerous vampire factions reside.
Like the original, your choices will shape how this gripping story unfolds. Which factions do you befriend? What actions do you take in the real world? Maybe something brutal and to the point or perhaps a little more seductive. It will be completely up to you how you approach the various missions and detailed characters.
Bloodlines 2 has already suffered a delay. Originally teased for March, the developer Hardsuit Labs had to move it to sometime in 2020. Unfortunately, it’s being delayed again. It will now be available sometime next year, 2021.
That’s not the best news if you were hoping to finally check out how the developer progressed the series and innovated it in select departments. Delays have been the norm in 2020 thanks to Covid 19 and anti-racism movements. Is it surprising that Bloodlines 2 takes another hit? Not really.
The developer updated fans in an official statement. Pretty much, they need more time to make sure this game meets the high expectations that they and their fans have set for this rebooted RPG.
The original Bloodlines was great in so many ways, and Hardsuit Labs wants to ensure this sequel surpasses expectations. It’s probably not what fans want to hear, but at least there is a little glimmer of light in this delay.
Now, the developer can make sure Bloodlines 2 is truly ready to see the light of day. A lot of developers could benefit from the same approach rather than trying to push out a product that’s not fully cooked. It happens quite frequently as studios face deadline pressure from publishers looking to earn a profit on projects they’ve invested in.
Perhaps Bloodlines 2 will be even better now that it’s receiving a little more tender loving care. The game already has shown a ton of potential, from the upgraded and immersive graphics to the vast amount of choices that players will have access to.
Hopefully, the developer keeps fans updated with some more trailers breaking down the Seattle world and the characters in it. They have a lot to live up to, but if the original is anything to go off of, fans are in store for a bloody treat. Stay tuned for future updates within the coming months.
