As you might know, the former FLOTUS has just launched her very own podcast on Spotify so it’s safe to say that Michelle Obama will be able to express her opinions and use her voice a lot more from now own. However, that is not to say that she will only be talking about politics and social issues.
Instead, on the debut episode, she opened up about some personal things too, one of them being her relationship with husband and former POTUS, Barack Obama.
More precisely, Michelle told her listeners what exactly made her fall for him in the first place!
Barack just so happened to be her first guest on the podcast so this topic of discussion was made even more fun by this and Barack also got the opportunity to share his side of the story as well, the married couple discussing what led to them falling for each other.
According to Michelle, it was her husband’s sense of community that attracted her the most to the, at the time, young lawyer.
After all, Michelle really felt like she could relate to him on a personal level.
‘One of the reasons I fell in love with you is because you are guided by the principle that we are each other’s brothers’ and sisters’ keepers. And that’s how I was raised. I can say that my family, neighborhood, notions of community growing up shaped that view, and they shaped the choices I made in life as I felt your experiences shape yours,’ she stated on the platform.
Barack then sweetly joked that ‘It wasn’t just my looks. But that’s okay.’
The adorable banter did not end here, however, Barack making quite a lot of jokes during the 49 minutes long chat.
For instance, at some point during the podcast, the former First Lady mentioned that they have been ‘spending a lot of time together in quarantine.’
‘You don’t seem too happy about that,’ Barack quipped, hilariously, before they got into detail about how great of a time they have been having in lockdown together.
